The
artistry of a Jazz Vocalist is often measured by the depth of emotion
a listener experiences, the artist's gift of improvisation, and
the interpretation of the rendition. On such a scale Annette Lowman
is a stellar performer who has exceeded the scale in her many presentations
in the US and abroad.
Reviewers
have praised Annette Lowman's voice for its warm alto that also
displays strength and beauty in the upper ranges and for her talent
as a writer, actress, and comedian. An internationally recognized
jazz singer, Annette has performed and/or recorded with many of
the distinguished stars of the jazz world such as Stanley Turrentine,
Clark Terry, Maceo Parker, Archie Shepp, and Claude Bolling, to
name a few.
In
the years 1983 through 1998 Annette resided in Europe and made Paris
her second home; following a busy musical schedule and touching
the hearts of all whom she performed for across Europe.

Annette's accomplishments is her performance with the Orchestra,
Chorusand Ballet Company of
Saint-Etienne, France, in the Comedy Opera La Poule Noire. She also
worked with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and
joined with George Vukan to co-author and record the tribute prayers
for Pope Paul II in the production Missa Ad Dominum Jesum Christum.
"As
far back as I can remember, music has always been an important part
of my life. It's like an enchanting force which moves me outside
the reality of daily living. Music performance has afforded me opportunities
to journey around the world, stepping in and out of cultures as
well as meeting and performing with musicians who influenced my
life both musically and personally."
Among
her many popular CDs is Brown Baby, a tribute to Oscar Brown Jr.,
one of the greatest story tellers in American History.
